About The ECT* Doctoral Training Programme

How to apply

The ECT* (European center for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas) and the RBRC (RIKEN - BNL Research center) organize jointly a Doctoral Training Programme at ECT* from October 30 to December 8, 2006.

QCD spin physics poses great challenges, but also great opportunities, to both theory and experiment. Over the next few years, results from the polarized proton-proton scattering program now well underway at RHIC, as well as from the ongoing lepton-nucleon scattering programs at CERN, DESY and the Jefferson Laboratory, will be crucial in leading to a deeper understanding of QCD and the internal structure of the nucleon.

The aim of the ECT*-RBRC Training Program is to alert young physicists to the excitement and challenges of Spin Physics, in the hope that many of them will join the experimental effort or work on the associated theortical issues.

Dates: October 30 - December 8
Students are allowed to arrive Saturday 28 October and leave Sunday 10 December.
