Unraveling the complexity of nuclear systems: single-particle and collective aspects through the looking glass

Single-particle and collective degrees of freedom are often intimately coupled and mixed in atomic nuclei. This workshop will focus on the description of such subtle interplay and its impact on nuclear structure and reactions observables. Theoretical models (and their possible future implementations) where such mixing is taken into account will be illustrated in both structure and reaction domains, and in both Energy Dendity Functional and ab-initio frameworks. Advantages and drawbacks of different models will be discussed. The presence of several experts coming from different domains will favour the discussion on possible connections, interfaces, and common future implementations. Special emphasis will be put on the construction of a coherent and rigorous interface between structure and reaction models. Experts from the experimental community will join the discussion and present recent measurements of observables for which such mixing of individual and collective aspects is particularly important. They will contribute to the discussion for the suggestion of new possible physics cases for future experiments.
