Activities
ECT* activities are designed to promote the progress of nuclear theory and related areas in a stimulating and inclusive environment. Participants engage in informal and creative discussions not only in our modern lecture room but also on the grounds of our elegant yet cozy villa in the outskirts of Trento. For this reason, ECT* relies on in-person participation as the preferred way of interaction. To build on the experiences gained during the pandemic and to support an inclusive global research community, presentations at workshops can occasionally be broadcast via zoom. Whenever possible, ECT* expects the organizers and speakers to be present in person.
We host three types of activities:
- workshops – ECT* provides logistic and partial financial support for workshops selected by the Scientific Board. Typically one or two weeks long, workshops address a research topic of contemporary interest with ample time for discussion.
- advanced schools – ECT* holds a Doctoral Training Program, typically for two or three weeks per year. The DTP offers in-depth lectures on various aspects of a topic selected by the Scientific Board. ECT* provides logistic and partial financial support for students and organizers/lecturers.
- collaboration meetings – ECT* offers a venue and logistic support for collaboration meetings, where lodging and travel expenses are covered by the collaboration.
