The EQB-Pascal project has been officially approved
FBK/ECT* is participating in the EQB-Pascal project, funded by EURAMET and aimed at revolutionizing pressure measurement through the development of quantum-based technologies. As the scientific community moves away from traditional methods—such as those relying on mercury or complex mechanical parts—this project seeks to establish a more efficient and resilient European metrological infrastructure. By transitioning advanced quantum systems from laboratory prototypes into practical, integrated applications, EQB-Pascal aims to strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty and provide high-performance measurement standards for manufacturing, environmental monitoring, and industrial process control.
ECT* will play a significant role in the theoretical modeling aspects of the EQB-Pascal project, specifically regarding the determination of thermophysical properties for gas mixtures, leveraging over 15 years of expertise in calculating virial coefficients for atomic and molecular systems.
