Probing transverse nucleon structure at high momentum transfer
ECT* - Villa Tambosi
Strada delle Tabarelle, 286
Trento - Italy
This workshop will focus on two key areas of hadron structure: nucleon elastic electromagnetic form factors, including the quark flavor decomposition, and wide-angle Compton scattering on the proton. The Super BigBite Spectrometer in Hall A at Jefferson Lab will for the first time
provide unprecedented access to these observables in the large energy and momentum transfer domain, and thereby expose crucial aspects of the quark-gluon dynamics that govern nucleon structure. In particular, the nature of the transition from the non-perturbative toward the perturbative regime will be explored with unprecedented precision. The workshop will bring together experimentalists and theorists from the international hadron physics community in order to facilitate discussions on what is needed in terms of theoretical approaches and experimental data. A key goal will be to identify new experiments which will provide the most insight into the quark and gluon structure of the nucleon.
