The Quantum Science Generation (QSG) 2026, in its fourth edition, continues this successful event series aimed at young researchers who are interested in expanding their expertise or are delving for the first time into the fascinating field of quantum technologies. This year’s edition will focus on the constantly evolving field of quantum computing (QC) to address the rapid progress in hardware development and the new possibilities and challenges it is opening. QSG 2026 combines three in-depth thematic modules covering different and complementary pathways towards fault-tolerant quantum computing with topical seminars providing an overview of the state of the art of the leading QC platforms: neutral atoms, trapped ions, photonics, and superconducting circuits. At the same time, the workshop also offers ample time for contributed presentations and discussions to give young researchers the opportunity to share their own research. The combination of training sessions by established scientists and contributions from young researchers is designed to strengthen and broaden the participants’ expertise in advanced topics in quantum computing, fostering discussion and collaboration across different areas of quantum science and ultimately promoting new insights and advancing the field.
