The proposed workshop will cover one of the most outstanding topics of strong interaction physics which is the dynamics of quark-gluon interaction in the nuclear medium. Understanding how quarks and gluons behave as they are embedded in the nuclear medium is essential to a series of strong interaction phenomena such as modifications of quark and gluon distributions of nucleons in the nuclear medium, the hadron-quark-gluon transition in extreme nuclear environments, the role of the super-fast quarks in nuclear PDFs at very large Q2 and its relevance to the composition of superdense cold nuclear matter.

The expected outcomes of the workshop will be the theoretical analysis of the new series of experimental data that will be available from Jefferson Lab and LHC as well as a discussion of new theoretical approaches which are currently being developed by several groups also for the experimental program of the future Electron Ion Collider.
