Superconducting circuits can be engineered and tailored to create non-linear systems with several interdisciplinary applications beyond quantum computing, including quantum optics experiments in the microwave regime, quantum simulations for nuclear physics and quantum many-body systems, microwave quantum sensors for space applications and astrophysics, detectors systems for particle physics and quantum communication, to cite only a few. The scope of the workshop is to promote exchange between different communities, both theoretical and experimental, investigating novel approaches for fundamental physics experiments as well as for applications. In particular, the focus will be on the exploitation of the superconducting platform as a tool for new applications in the following fields: 1) Quantum optics in the microwave regime: tailoring superconducting circuits to investigate quantum optics phenomena with microwave photons such as strong light-matter coupling and analogue dynamical Casimir effect. 2) Simulations of nuclear systems: exploiting superconducting quantum circuits as quantum simulators, with the goal of enabling accurate theoretical description of complex nuclear systems (quantum many-body systems, nuclear reactions, etc.). 3) Novel detection concepts: harnessing the intrinsic high sensitivity of superconducting quantum systems and exploiting techniques such as microwave squeezing to enhance the performance of detectors for applications in space, astrophysics and particle physics. The workshop will bring together experts of different fields and researchers at different career stages. The participation of young scientists and doctoral students will be encouraged, with the aim of training a new generation of scientists in the field.
