Q@TN | QUANTUM SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN TRENTO
Quantum Science and Technology in Trento is a joint initiative of University of Trento, Bruno Kessler Foundation, and National Research Council aimed at coordinating their on-going activities and to start new ones in the field of Quantum Science and Technologies. This initiative promotes research projects, technological transfer, education and training. Research activities are planned in the areas of fundamental quantum science, quantum communications, quantum computing, quantum simulations, future sensors and metrology.
Projects:
- Quantum simulator for Open Quantum Systems
- Machine Learning techniques FOR Quantum Gate Engineering
- QUantum SensIng TeChnology for Fundamental PHysics Experiments (acronym: QUICHE) with the Center for Materials and Microsystems (Gianluigi Casse, Benno Margesin), CNR-IFN (Paolo Falferi), the Department of Physics (Francesco Pederiva), and Simone Taioli (ECT*). Proposal is to fund a PhD student (€ 66.000). Started November 2020.
- Quantum sensing with laser-synthesized Nano-DIAmond NV color centers
PhD Students:
- Luca Spagnoli (University of Trento) – co-supervisor Giovanni Garberoglio. Project: Quantum simulation of gauge theories and neutrinos with qudits.
